Emergency Plumber Service in Slacks Creek
Sewage coming up through a toilet, shower or floor waste? Stop using water in the house and call 0418 871 269. An overflowing sewer is one of the jobs we treat as an emergency, day or night.

Sewage in the house: keep people safe first
Raw sewage carries germs that make people sick, so the first job isn’t the mop. Logan City Council’s advice is to never touch sewage with bare hands, keep children and pets away, and wear gloves, goggles and gumboots if you have to go near it. Cover any cuts, and wash and disinfect straight away if sewage gets into one.
Don’t flush the toilet or run taps, showers, the dishwasher or the washing machine. Every litre you send down the drain has to go somewhere, and with a blockage that’s back up through the lowest fitting in the house.
Then work out who to call. If the problem is in the pipes on your property, Logan Water says to call a licensed plumber first. If the sewer main or an access hole in the street is overflowing, that’s council’s pipe: report it to Logan Water on 07 3412 3412. If you’re not sure which it is, call us and an emergency plumber in Slacks Creek will find out.
If you have health concerns after contact with sewage, get medical advice or call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84).

After the blockage is cleared: the clean-up
Once we’ve cleared the line, the house still needs cleaning properly. Council’s guidance is to clean, disinfect and dry every hard surface, and disinfect any tools or equipment the sewage touched. Bleach solutions are the most effective disinfectant. Victoria’s Better Health Channel suggests one cup of household bleach in 10 litres of cold water.
Anything absorbent that’s been soaked should go: carpet, rugs, mattresses, pillows, cardboard and soft toys. Make a list and take photos of everything you throw out for your insurer, and wash the clothes you cleaned up in separately. For a large overflow, council notes a professional cleaning company may be needed.
Let your home insurer know about the overflow, and your landlord or property manager if you rent. We can put a CCTV camera down the line to show what caused the blockage, whether that’s tree roots, a build-up, or a cracked or broken pipe, so you know if it’s likely to happen again. We clear blockages with a high-pressure jet rodder or electric eel.
Slacks Creek takes its name from the creek that runs through it, part of the Logan River catchment. We work there under QBCC plumbing licence 15504687 and gas licence L90908.
Frequently asked questions
Can’t see your question? Call us and we’ll talk it through.
Call 0418 871 269Sewage is coming up through my shower. Do I need an emergency plumber in Slacks Creek?
Yes. Stop using all water in the house, keep everyone out of the bathroom, and call 0418 871 269. If you can see the sewer access hole in the street overflowing too, report that to Logan Water on 07 3412 3412 as well.
Is it safe to clean up sewage myself?
Small amounts can be cleaned with gloves, goggles and gumboots, then hard surfaces disinfected with a bleach solution. Keep children and pets away, throw out soaked absorbent items, and get professional cleaners in for anything large.
Who pays when the sewer overflows into my house?
It depends on where the blockage is. Logan Water repairs blocked and damaged sewer mains outside your property boundary. Pipes on your property are the owner’s to fix with a licensed plumber. Tell your home insurer either way, and take photos.
Why does sewage come out of the gully outside instead of the house?
That’s the overflow relief gully doing its job. Its grate is meant to lift and let sewage out in the yard rather than inside. If sewage came up inside and the gully didn’t overflow, get it checked once the blockage is cleared.
Can you come out after hours?
Yes. Emergency plumbing and gas calls are taken 24/7, including weekends and public holidays. Routine work is booked through the office, 7am to 5pm on weekdays.
