The leak you can’t see
Cornubia sits in Logan City, so its water and sewerage are run by Logan City Council rather than the Redlands. For a burst water main or a leak on the road, Logan asks you to call 07 3412 3412 as soon as possible, and the same number takes reports of overflowing sewer mains.

Getting money back on a concealed-leak bill
Logan City Council offers a concealed leak remission that can reduce the water bill hit by a hidden leak. The leak must be fixed by a licensed plumber within one month of finding it, and the application needs that plumber’s report on the repair plus a recent meter reading.
You have three months from the bill that shows the jump to apply. Claims are allowed once every three years and can cover up to two bills in a row. Owner-occupied homes, rentals and units in a community title scheme can apply; businesses can’t. Leaks inside the house, or in pipes to other buildings or taps, don’t count.

How long do I have to fix the leak and apply?
Logan requires the leak to be fixed by a licensed plumber within one month of finding it, and the remission application to go in within three months of the bill that showed the higher use.
Which leaks don’t qualify for the remission?
Leaks inside the house, and leaks in pipes to other buildings or taps, don’t qualify. Business properties can’t apply. You can only claim once every three years.
