Storm overload or a real blockage?
Council’s own rule of thumb helps. If only one sink or toilet is slow and everything else works, the blockage is most likely in your plumbing. If the overflow relief gully is overflowing when no water is being used in the house, the blockage is probably in council’s sewer main, so report it to City Water on 3829 8999.
For blockages on your side, council recommends a plumber with jet rodding gear and a pipe inspection camera. We bring both: the jet rodder or electric eel to clear the line, and the drain camera to find out why it blocked.
