Blocked Drain Redland Bay
Blocked drains cleared in Redland Bay’s newer estates and older homes alike, with CCTV footage that shows exactly what’s wrong, which matters if your home is still under warranty.

A new home shouldn’t have drain problems
A drain that blocks again and again in a house only a few years old is a warning sign. In a new build, it can come down to how the drainage was laid, or damage during construction, rather than anything you’ve put down it.
In the newer Redland Bay estates, yard drainage is a common complaint. Stormwater that coped on a bare block can stop coping once landscaping goes in over a compacted new-build lot, leaving water pooling against the house.
If the home was built under a Queensland Home Warranty Scheme policy, timing matters. The QBCC says work is covered for 6 years and 6 months from the earliest of paying the premium, signing the contract or work starting. The time limits for making a claim are much shorter, especially for non-structural defects.

Get it on camera, then act within the time limits
The QBCC’s rules: for a structural defect, you must first become aware of it within the 6 years 6 months of cover and make the claim within 3 months of finding it. For a non-structural defect, you must become aware of it within 6 months of the work being substantially complete, and claim within 7 months of completion.
That’s why evidence matters early. We clear the blockage with a jet rodder or electric eel, then put a CCTV camera through the line. The footage shows what’s there: debris, a dip or sag, a displaced joint, roots or a broken pipe. You get to see it, and you can pass it on to your builder or the QBCC.
If the problem is surface water rather than a blocked pipe, we design and install drainage solutions and seepage trenches to suit the block as it is now.
We work under QBCC licence 15504687 and take blocked drain emergencies 24/7.
Frequently asked questions
Can’t see your question? Call us and we’ll talk it through.
Call 0418 871 269My drains keep blocking in a newer Redland Bay home. Is it a defect?
It might be. A camera inspection shows whether it’s something that went down the drain or how the line was built. Raise it with your builder early, and check the QBCC time limits.
How long do I have to claim for defective work in Queensland?
Under the QBCC home warranty scheme, you must notice a non-structural defect within 6 months of the work being substantially complete and claim within 7 months. Structural defects are covered for 6 years 6 months, with a claim due within 3 months of finding the problem.
Can you give me evidence for a warranty claim?
Yes. A CCTV inspection records what’s inside the pipe, so you can show your builder or the QBCC exactly what we found.
Water pools in my yard since the landscaping went in. What can be done?
On newer lots, the drainage often needs to be updated once gardens and paths are added. We design and install drainage and seepage trenches to move the water away from the house.
Is a blocked drain in a new home the builder’s problem?
It depends on the cause. If it’s a construction fault, it may be covered. If it’s wipes or grease from the household, it isn’t. The camera usually makes that clear.
